WAY TO GO FR!!! YOU DA' MAN!!! The entire script runs perfectly now, I can't find one thing wrong with it. All of my PM and email notices for outbid and auction end notifications are getting sent out perfectly.

HonestJohn: Does your host use CPanel? If so I can tell you how to get the auction end notifications working automatically. Someone showed me yesterday

Thanks, I got the cron job working - cpanel made it easy.
Staying up til 5am was worth it I guess to track that bug down...

I use Cpanel. It would be helpful if you can post how to do it.

TheButler4 is the one who showed me how to do this, so he is the one to thank. If you are using cpanel, go to the homepage on cpanel and click cron jobs. then choose standard and put this in for the file to execute...

Code:
php -f public_html/phpbb/auction_cron.php

you can put in your e-mail address or leave it blank if you don't want to recieve the debug information. then down towards the bottom, choose how often you want the script to run. each time the script is run, it will check to see if there are any PMs and E-mail in the queue to be sent so you probably want it to run fairly often so your customers can get as close to real time info as possible. I set mine to run every minute of every hour of every day so it's pretty much always going.

OK thanks. Just to clarify, the line would include the path to the auction_cron.php file.

moved that topic as the creation of the cron-job might need a description.

bug-fix will be posted in bug-report forum..

I just added this patch, because my PMs and e-mails aren't being sent, either. But I still can't get them to work, even though it's set to YES in the admin panel. Do I need to do something with that cron job? I don't know what that means. I have the cron things set to NO. Should they be set to YES as well?

TIA! Very Happy

The included mod on this post helped me be able to get the email notification going but the PM part still doesnt work for me for some reason.

Wonder why the email would kick in but not the PM??

You can select both. Is that for all pms or just for sellers/buyers on bid/direct purchase ?

currently i tried putting that cron job posted about into my cron jobs to have it run every 30 mins.

Right now i have recieved no PMS or Emails for acutions finishing..
Can you verify if that is the correct cron line?

That aside the issue i am talking about is outbid. I have both Email and PM selected. Before i used this mod i was recieveing nothing on outbids. After the mod i recieved an email on outbid but no PM.

I woke up this morning and got 2 more outbid emails and went to check if i had recieved PMs and i had not.

Could someone remind me what we were using before cron jobs, and why we switched to cron jobs?

my cron job works fine..

problem is when i use PMs with auction the PMs come invisible to me. They show as new and there is a percentage of inbox used but i see no message or PM at all.
