I think that for most sites, it would be nice to be able to easily change the location of the auction to some other location then the same directory as the forum. A lot of people use the default www.site.com/phpBB/index.php but some use www.site.com/forum/index.php and, although it is just a little thing, it might be nice to be able to change the directory that the auction is in to www.site.com/auction/auction.php or something like that. I'm not suggesting that you change the default file structure, I just think that it would be nice for forum admins to be able to change it without going to a lot of trouble.

I agree 100% that it should be www.mysite.com/auction/index.php

That way it can be classed as a stand alone auction room rather than an add on to the forum.

Yes, for sites like phpbb-auction.com which put the files in the root directory, the current kind of file structure works very well but for the usual www.site.com/forum/index.php, it just doesn't look very good to have the auction be located at www.site.com/forum/auction.php. I don't think that it would be that difficult to change the file layout... though I could be wrong about this....

Would mean one more config-setting like the script-path in core phpbb.

Yes, I guess that it would probably slow the script down just a bit but it sure would be nice...

make an index.php like this:
Code:
<html>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="0;URL=http://www.site.com/forum/auction.php">
</html>

and put it into the auction root Smile

now u can enter via www.site.com/forum/auction/
I think its near the same Wink

Sorry, i was sleeping Wink

I don’t have this problem, because I don’t have a forum root.
www.domain.com/index.php
I dont enter with phpBB (etc). That’s I was a little confused Wink

But now i see, this is a "Better read all, before you post something Nico" Thread Very Happy

Your OK Nico you do a lot to help others here.

Just that everyone who has installed the auction room to the instructions has it installed in the phpBB or forum root directory hence we all have the same links rather than a separtate link such as www.yoursite.com/auction.php
