in the My Auctions page, how does one remove items from the My Bids listing?
For example, when an auction is offer and I did not win, I don't need it in My Bids anymore otherwise the My Bids list will keep growing and growing...

Sorry, I meant to say 'when the auction is over', not 'when the auction is offer'

Oh yeah, definitelly. The user should have the option to delete things from their list. Same with the watched items, etc.

Moved to Feature Requests. Could you kindly edit your original post and add a poll? Thanks bunches! Very Happy

yes there should be an option to remove like the watchlist or like prune....otherwise, the user's "my auctions" page will just keep growing and growing with stuff he/she is bidding on or selling and it will become confusing and unnecessary...thanks.

it shows only the bids for 10 days after the stop of the offer.

FR - I assume that is a simple check on the (auction_offer_time_stop + 10) vs. time()

but what about the bids that the user actually won? shouldn't that be kept until deleted by user? this helps in record keeping as well as remembering which ones the user still needs to pay

I propose the following, let me know if it makes sense.

watching
- active (keep until deleted <-- current method, no change needed)
- ended (shows only for 10 days after offer ends)

bidding
- ended but not won (shows only for 10 days after offer ends)
- ended and won (keep until deleted, user has option to delete)

selling
- ended (keep until deleted, user has option to delete)

I would personally prefer stuff stays until I delete it. I could understand that perhaps if the auctions are being pruned, then you could prune the bids and watch list using the same timeframe. It would still be better to let the admin set that up.

Other than that, I may want certain items to stay on my list for months, so that I have a reference for later.

I suggest:

1) Add functionality for end user to delete things from their lists. A check box for each item and a remove button would make the most sense.

2) Add function to auto-prune lists if 'Prune User Lists' is selected from the ACP. This selection would be auto-disabled if the forum does not auto-prune the auctions.

Crogon,

I guess my point is for these two scenarios, most of the time the user would not want to keep them, so if they are very active auction user, these lists may grow long really fast and it may be cumbersome to ask user to delete each one manually.

watching
- ended (shows only for 10 days after offer ends)

bidding
- ended but not won (shows only for 10 days after offer ends)

Ok..

3) add function for end user to select whether or not he wants his lists auto-pruned. ^^

Nothing pisses me off more on an auction site, than when I go back to my list to remember something, and half the list is gone. Crying or Very sad Evil or Very Mad

Man.. can't edit my own posts in this forum. Razz

How about we ignore option #2, just use option #1 and #3. Should make the coding a whole bunch easier. Wink

I guess you could always give the admin to override and prune peoples lists even if they don't want to, but why would you want to piss off your auctioneers. Wink
