Currently ( as of v1.2) there is no way to add an existing phpBB2 group to the roles (auction groups) In the admin interface under "Manage Permissions"

"Add user to role" is fine, but we really need "Add Group to Role" so that an existing forum with premium members can be allowed automatically to use the auction system.

Please be so kind and vote in support of this "Add Group to Role" request!

If you vote "NO" please post as to WHY you think this is not usefull!

Steve.

Well, with the help of a very skilled friend of mine I managed to get this piece of functionality working.

We have implemented it as a single and nested "if" statement and placed it into the "auctions_cron.php" file.

Since my cron job runs each minute it constantly checks a designated phpbb2 user group and syncronizes all the members in that group with the "auctioneers" group thus allowing them to make offers. We did not implement an admin interface... maybe someone else can make that...

I will gladly share the code with the original authors for inclusion in the next version but do request that a few bugs be given priority, like the "Specials" feature.

To elaborate, if the specials feature is enabled in admin an auctioneer can select that option when placing an offer and is properly forced to pay before their offer is listed. However they can simply ignore it, place a basic offer and once it's up, simply press the "Specials" star button (next to move and close) and get their offer instantly added to the specials list without paying!!! If you disable the option in admin then it gets disabled from the make offer page as well so that is NOT a solution.

Also, the Specials list needs to randomly show auctions if there are more specials than the number set to display. Currently the top offer in the list gets pushed out of the way by the last and that will not make paying people 2 happy.

Thanks!

Do you have the current release version of phpbb-auction? There was a fix at one point so that only administrators could see those buttons on the auction body. Look in the 'old version' forums for a fix, then it should work just fine. Cool

I am running v1.2m is that not the latest? I downloaded it around August 20th, 2004.

Please let me know if I am running the latest or not.

Also, does the fix you mention cover this?:

Thank you.

Steve.

P.S. I searched both the "Older Version" and "Older Version - Bug report/Patches" archives and there is no code that I could find to allow only admins to push the "Specials" Star button.... Can you please help me find it?
