I was looking into this and I think it would make sense to have the username of the person who bought your offer and by the same token, they should have your username as the seller, when PM's & Emails are sent after an auction is won. (even via Direct Sell)

This can be taken further by providing the email of each other alongside the username.

This will make for additional ease of contact without having to visit the website to see who the winner/seller is and try to track them down.

Anyone else agree?

I don't think you'll get a majority either way on this one. Wink

Some people would like to keep it to pm notification, then they can be emailed when they get a pm. This would prevent you're email from being divulged. That's very important to some people.

On the other hand, some board admins would insist on divulging email addresses. For one thing, it will keep people 'legit', for another it will cut down on the dialy pm traffic. Wink

I think at best this could be (yet another) acp option, and the admin would decide. At least it should be implemented as a mod, so that the people who want to use this option, have that perogative. Wink

Also, try to remember that this is an original project. Neither 'Ebay' nor any other auction site was taken as the root or the concept for phpbb-auction. This is a very good thing, because if we do try to mimic them, they will make sure that FR's childrens children will be paying for copyright infringement. First off, this would kill the whole project, which would suck for all of us. Second off, FR is a REALLY nice guy, and we don't want that happening to him, now do we? Smile
